Positive Pressure Protective EnvironmentsUnlike Safe-T-Dome™ cabinets which operate at a slight negative pressure, Posi-Dome™ cabinets contain a positive pressure environment to protect the contents from ambient air contamination. When users need to maintain a sterile, low moisture, oxygen-free or clean-room type environment, a positive cabinet pressure is required to ensure that leaks will not allow outside air to enter the chamber. This positive pressure requires the bottom flange of the dome to be mechanically held to the base, since air pressure will tend to lift the flange and gasket, causing serious leakage. Dry-box type users have used clamps, adhesives or stiffeners to hold down the flange of the Safe-T-Dome™ Splash for this purpose in the past, and these methods are still available; the Safe-T-Dome™ Splash is economical, and it is easily modified for such applications with woodworking tools. The Banthrax cabinet designed for Positive Pressure use is the Posi-Dome. This cabinet includes clamp bolts to secure the flange to its' base, and pressure control elements to establish and support positive pressure environments. The same simple rugged polymer dome construction is used for the Posi-Dome and Safe-T-Dome models, providing durability, light weight, chemical stability, visibility and light weight for all these options. Banthrax drybox and cleanroom offerings provide reliability, flexibility, efficiency and economy that is exceptional for a wide range of positive pressure applications. |
